April Meeting

Maine Romance Writers is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting romance and other fiction writers via networking and programming. Through monthly meetings and workshops, we strive to provide continuing assistance in the journey to publication, whether by a traditional path, a small press, or independent publishing.

Our next meeting is April 15, 2017

Guest Speaker: Lisa Olech

"Let's Talk About Sex"

Lisa A. Olech leads this craft-based workshop about bringing more insight into writing those pesky sex scenes, or simply adding more sexual tension throughout your stories. Combining her humor with the pros and cons of writing contemporary romance vs. historical romance, Lisa adds her own list of pet peeves about writing believable, realistic and smoldering romantic scenes, taking into account using the five senses, scene focusing, and word choice.

Lisa doesn’t write erotica, but takes her own characters right up to that “shady gray” line. Whether you write sweets or more graphic scenes, Lisa hopes to bring a little something for everyone.

Lisa is an artist/writer living in her dream house nestled among the lakes in New England. She loves getting lost in a steamy book, finding the perfect pair of sexy shoes, and hearing the laughter of her men. Being an estrogen island in a sea of testosterone makes her queen. She believes in ghosts, silver linings, the power of a man in a tuxedo, and happy endings. Lisa is also a multi-published author in both the contemporary and historical genres. She is currently working with both The Wild Rose Press and Kensington Lyrical. You can reach her at all the social media hot spots and on her website www.lisaolech.com. Or you can email her at lisa@lisaolech.com.

  1. I'm glad that the writers have the opportunity to develop their talents. But I'm a bad writer. Therefore, article for my blog, I order here http://paidpaper.net/coursework-reviews/ . Perhaps the time will pass, and I'll be writing better. Then I can write a novel or a story of my life.

  3. Corporate events present you with good publicity opportunities. Hence, you need to do proper planning at corporate event venues San Francisco to present an image of being a professional, reliable, and innovative organization. Be certain that the events you've organized are useful and creative.
